Our Approach

At Tokyo ABA Support, the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the art of teaching are incorporated to ensure that learning is fun and meaningful, and foster children’s fullest potential in all facets of life. For each child, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine his/her strengths and weaknesses. Through this process, we design and implement highly individualized and well-rounded treatment packages. Instructional strategies are data driven and based on the most current studies demonstrated by respected researchers and clinicians in the field of ABA.

Why ABA

ABA is the science of applying experimentally derived principles of behavior to improve socially significant behavior. Recently, treatment approaches based on ABA principles are recognized as the most effective instructional and behavioral interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders. Over the past 30 years, however, a number of studies have documented the effectiveness and efficacy of ABA across a wide range of populations (e.g., children and adults with mental retardation, learning disabilities, and behavior problems).

ABA works because:

  • Learning goals are broken down into small steps.
  • All skills are taught through repetition
  • Each response is reinforced or corrected until the target behavior is learned.
  • Instructional strategies are scientific and evidence- based.
